When your back is against the wall and you cannot stop being removed from the United States, voluntary departure lets you leave the USA on your own, giving you time to wrap up your affairs and spend extra time with friends and loved ones. An immigration judge can give you 30-120 days time to legally stay in the USA. You can than avoid detention and forcible removal by ICE. If you accept voluntary departure, you must leave before your allotted time expires. There are severe immigration penalties if you overstay. | ||||
